    Thank you so much for this very informative podcast. I’m a 68 year old long term heart patient, first MI at 29, in search of additional dietary change. Many heart issues over the years, BMI is at 30 and recently had five stents placed in the last three years. Blood LDL levels managed for decades in the 60/80 range which have not slowed progression. Considering a plant based diet, and intermittent fasting. Your podcast was helpful.

      Thank you for your comments. A healthy lifestyle is an important part of medical treatment. This may result in driving your LDL even lower and hopefully prevent further stent procedure.

Alain Bouchard, MD

Dr. Alain Bouchard is a clinical cardiologist at Cardiology Specialists of Birmingham, AL. He is a native of Quebec, Canada and trained in Internal Medicine at McGill University in Montreal. He continued as a Research Fellow at the Montreal Heart Institute. He did a clinical cardiology fellowship at the University of California in San Francisco. He joined the faculty at the University of Alabama Birmingham from 1986 to 1990. He worked at CardiologyPC and Baptist Medical Center at Princeton from 1990-2019. He is now part of the Cardiology Specialists of Birmingham at St. Vincent's Health System, Ascension.
