Thank you all for the work you do.
Dr. McGiffin, so good to hear you. You performed the maze surgery on me at UAB in 2000 which enabled me to go on to have a very productive and active life for the better part of two decades. Thanks again to you and Dr. Bouchard for making that happen!
I had a heart attack in January of 2018 and since June of 2018 I have been the beneficiary of a Heartware LVAD awaiting a transplant. Over all I’m doing well, working full time, exercising, enjoying my favorite hobby of camping and an occaisional hike. My right ventricle was in question at the time and a right side VAD was considered. They decided against it and so far so good. I really appreciate the information made available here. Thanks again to you all.
