Dr. Oscar Julian Booker was born in Ozark, Alabama. He currently lives in the Birmingham. Dr. Booker attended undergraduate at Morehouse College where he studied biology and economics. He then matriculated at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he completed medical school, residency and cardiology fellowship. While in Texas, he completed his Masters in Business Administration within the University of Houston system. This was followed by a fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging at the Laboratory of Cardiac Energetics in the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health. He currently works as a non-invasive cardiologist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he specializes in multimodality cardiovascular imaging.
